Objective

The objective of the outreach and learning activity was to provide an educational and immersive experience for students from Greener Pastures International School Yaounde at the Mefou Primate Sanctuary. The visit aimed to raise awareness about primate conservation, foster a deeper understanding of the importance of preserving biodiversity, and inspire the students to become future advocates for environmental stewardship.

  • Destruction of forests and other vegetation
  • Release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere
  • Loss of wildlife habitat
  • Spread of diseases
  • Health problems for people and animals

The challenging aspect of the activity was ensuring the safety and well-being of both the students and the primates at the sanctuary. Strict adherence to security guidelines and respect for the animals' natural habitats were essential to maintaining a positive, educational experience.
